Overview:
Join PTC’s Enablement team as a Technical Editor, where you’ll transform complex technical content into clear, engaging materials that empower users and internal teams. Reporting to the Director of Standards, Tools, and Processes, you’ll collaborate across teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability. As the sole editor, you’ll define the voice of PTC’s product documentation, drive adoption, and elevate editorial standards. You’ll also develop and maintain a comprehensive editorial guide, drawing insights from leading software companies to align PTC’s content with industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Edit and review content in Word and PowerPoint for clarity, grammar, tone, and consistency.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure technical accuracy.
- Maintain a project board to track editing progress.
- Provide constructive feedback to content creators.
- Develop and update the editorial standards guide.
- Research external style guides to refine internal standards.
- Communicate updates and delays to stakeholders.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
- Strong collaborator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Curious and proactive in learning and applying best practices.
Experience:
- 2+ years in technical editing or writing.
- Experience creating AI prompts to streamline editing.
- Comfortable working in collaborative, virtual environments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Journalism, English, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of proven technical editing experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Planner).
- Strong computer, proofreading, and time-management skills.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and attention to detail.
