Overview:

SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Technical Business Analyst with expertise in the property and casualty insurance industry to act as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. The ideal candidate will excel at translating business needs into technical requirements and communicating effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership. This role involves maintaining the team roadmap, managing project tickets in Jira, and tracking the project portfolio in Smartsheet, while reporting directly to the AVP of Software Operations.
What you’d be doing:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements specific to property and casualty insurance processes.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for development teams.
- Assess project needs and prioritize within the team’s portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives using Smartsheet for portfolio tracking.
- Maintain and build out the team roadmap, ensuring clear visibility of project timelines and priorities.
- Manage and track project tickets in Jira, ensuring accurate documentation and timely updates.
- Partner with the team manager to oversee daily project progress and resolve challenges.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise executive presentations to articulate business needs and secure project approvals.
- Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and validate project requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication between business units, technical teams, and leadership to ensure alignment and project success.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of requirements, processes, and project statuses.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, with a strong understanding of its business processes.
- Basic technical knowledge to effectively bridge business and IT teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex business needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a strategic team roadmap in a fast-paced environment.
Highly preferred candidates also have:
- Demonstrated success in working cross-functionally across software, product, operations, and business teams
- Understanding of insurance compliance, regulatory requirements, and operational workflows
- PMP, CBAP, or similar business analysis or project management certification
- Self-starter with a bias toward action, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous improvement
