Technical Business Analyst – Cloud Migration Specialist (Contract)

We are seeking a contract Technical Business Analyst to join our dynamic team and drive the successful migration of an on-premises digital fax infrastructure to a cloud based digital fax provider. This pivotal role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and stakeholder management to ensure a smooth transition while minimizing disruption to business operations.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both on-premises and cloud based digital fax platforms, database technologies, Windows Server administration, cloud technologies, data migration processes, and experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and cost-effective solutions.

Essential Functions:

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives, operational needs, and technical requirements for cloud migration.
  • Conduct detailed assessments of existing on-premises systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Strong capability to visualize and diagram business process application interaction and data flow
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and define success criteria for the migration project.

Cloud Migration Planning & Execution

  • Partner with technical teams to design and implement a comprehensive migration strategy that aligns with organizational goals.
  • Document and manage end-to-end migration processes, including dependencies, timelines, and risks.
  • Assist end users in migration tasks and selecting the appropriate features and functionality of the services in order for the user to be able to perform their assigned duties based on business needs. 

Technical Documentation & Reporting

  • Develop detailed documentation, including business cases, technical specifications, and process workflows.
  • Prepare regular status updates, project reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, data governance, and security best practices.

Stakeholder Communication & Support

  • Act as the primary liaison between business units, IT teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Provide post-migration support to address issues and optimize performance.

Position Requirements:

Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
  • Background in secure messaging and data exchange such as Microsoft Exchange(365), SMTP Servers, FTP Servers, and EMR Systems
  • Familiarity with data migration tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and documenting complex IT systems and business processes.
  • Foundational knowledge of enterprise fax telecommunications technology from POTS to T1s and SIP Trunks and cloud based telephony.
  • Experience with server virtualization, storage systems, and networking concepts.
  • Deep domain expertise with Windows Servers including performance monitoring, registry management, domain policies, PowerShell, active directory and federated user management.
  • Deep domain expertise with On-Premise fax providers such as OpenText/RightFax
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, T-SQL, SQL queries, and reporting
  • Knowledge of the way enterprise organizations integrate fax technology into their business applications.
  • Deep domain expertise with Cloud Fax providers such as Concord Technologies.

Analytical & Communication Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on stakeholder engagement.
  • Adept at identifying potential risks and proposing effective mitigation strategies.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or relevant experience in a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical business analysis or IT project management, with a focus on cloud migration.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering cloud migration projects within budget and timelines.

Certifications (Preferred but not required)

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or Azure Administrator Associate
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)

Compensation Range: $75.00+ per hour. Range can flux dependent on experience, education/training, etc.
