Within the Grid Automation (GA) Business Line of GE Vernova, you will play a key technical role supporting the deployment and operation of our GridBeats portfolio—software-defined automation solutions designed to enhance grid resilience, asset performance, and operational efficiency.
As a Technical Application Expert, you will work directly with utility and industrial customers across the region, providing technical expertise throughout the solution lifecycle—from engineering and configuration to commissioning, training, and ongoing operational support. You will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and product teams to ensure successful customer outcomes and seamless integration of digital substation, asset management, and network management solutions.
This customer-facing role requires strong technical capability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate complex grid automation concepts into practical applications. You will have moderate autonomy in technical decision-making and represent GE Vernova’s digital grid solutions with professionalism, accuracy, and customer focus.Job Description
1. Education & Professional Background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Automation, or related field.
Proven experience in power system protection, control, digital substations, or grid automation.
Experience working with utility customers, transmission/distribution operators, or industrial power systems is an advantage.
2. Technical Skills
Power System & Grid Automation
Strong understanding of electrical grid operation, substation automation, SCADA systems, and IEC standards (IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3).
Knowledge of grid resilience concepts, autonomous control zones, and fault management.
Software & Digital Tools
Experience with automation or configuration tools—preferably GE Vernova solutions or similar:
Digital Substation engineering tools
Device or asset management systems
Network Management Systems (NMS)
Predictive maintenance / APM software (e.g., EnergyAPM)
Ability to interpret and analyze system logs, diagnostic data, and device health reports.
End-to-End Substation Engineering
Familiarity with:
Protection & control schemes
IED configuration and testing (relay settings, logic configuration)
Network architectures, cybersecure communication, and data modeling
Remote device provisioning and system commissioning
3. Application Support & Customer-Facing Skills
Provide technical expertise during pre-sales discussions, demonstrations, and product evaluations.
Excellent communication skills for translating complex technical topics into user-friendly explanations.
Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and product teams to resolve technical challenges.
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and utility regulatory standards.
4. Soft Skills
Strong customer-service orientation and ability to build trust with utility stakeholders.
Proactive attitude and ownership of issues through resolution.
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
Willingness to travel as needed for onsite support or customer training or presentations.
5. Additional Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of cloud-based architectures, containerized applications, or software-defined automation.
Experience with digital twins, grid simulation tools, or real-time systems.
Certifications in power systems, cybersecurity, or GE Vernova technologies (a bonus).
Fluent Polish and English is a must, other language as German or/and Russian, Ukrainian as a bonus
