Are you an experienced educator ready to step into a leadership role that balances administrative oversight with direct student impact? We are seeking a Teaching Coordinator to serve as a teacher-leader at the center of our educational programming. In addition to direct teaching duties, this on-site leadership position supports connections between educators and clinical program staff, ensuring that our strengths-based approach translates into real-world student outcomes.

 

What You'll Do
  • Plan and provide daily instruction, modeling high-quality teaching practices for teaching staff while directly supporting student learning.
  • Act as the primary educational liaison on-site, making independent, professional decisions to strengthen program effectiveness and foster a collaborative "one-team" culture between education and residential staff.
  • Support staff development and coordinate onsite training to ensure every educator is equipped to succeed.
  • Oversee diverse student learning tracks, including HiSET/GED prep, diploma pathways, and career/vocational exploration, and fostering programming that is culturally responsive and personalized.
  • Lead the administration of state-mandated testing, manage student records, and maintain rigorous compliance with all agency policies.
  • Support youth self-advocacy skills for transition and discharge meetings.

  • Employees are expected to follow CES Workplace Safety Standards and DYS Workplace Safety Standards.

Terms of Employment
  • Full-time, 185 day contract, CES/DYS School Calendar
  • Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day
  • Salary Range: $67,350 to $92,200. 
  • Starting salary will depend on level of licensure, education and experience. 
  • Teachers are part of a bargaining unit represented by SEIU 509.
  • Benefits available as outlined in the CES Employee Handbook
