Tax Manager - Boston Seaport - Hybrid 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance and strategy for Nasuni. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of federal, state, and international tax laws and will be adept at navigating the complexities of a pre-IPO environment. This role will provide an opportunity to make a significant impact on Nasuni's tax position and contribute to the overall business strategy. This position will be based in Nasuni’s Boston Seaport office on a hybrid 3-day onsite schedule

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including deferred taxes, tax reserves and valuation allowance to ensure proper reporting in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and international tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
  • Monitor and implement tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations.
  • Analyze and advise on the tax implications of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal and Finance, to address tax-related issues and ensure proper treatment of transactions.
  • Conduct tax research and analyze complex tax issues, providing clear guidance and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external tax advisors and auditors, facilitating communication and ensuring timely resolution of tax matters.
  • Lead the potential implementation of tax technology solutions to streamline tax processes and enhance data accuracy.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company's tax position and strategy.
  • Assist in managing tax audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and coordinating necessary documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for tax savings and assist in the development of tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
  • Partner with the Finance Team and external consultants on structuring and tax implications of new legal entities, foreign subsidiaries, or intercompany transactions
  • Maintain and monitor global transfer pricing documentation and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required, master’s degree in taxation or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of tax experience in a high-growth SaaS company, or public accounting firm with exposure to both domestic and international tax issues.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance and regulations, as well as experience with international tax matters.
  • Proficient in tax software and reporting tools; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Intacct) a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to communicate complex tax issues effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with external tax advisors and auditors, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
