Tax Manager - Investment Partnership

Job Overview

Topel Forman is seeking a Tax Manager – Investment Partnership with experience in fund-of-fund investment partnership taxation. This person should have knowledge and understanding of private equity and hedge fund investment structures, investor special allocations, and U.S. disclosures of foreign activities. As the Tax Manager – Investment Partnership, you will have the opportunity to work with clients and assist with training, mentoring, and development of associates and senior associates. This position is hybrid in our Chicago office, but is largely remote with the flexibility for you to choose when you would like to work in the office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and review of partnership tax returns for multiple funds of fund investment entities, including Schedule K-1 & Schedule K-3 reporting to investors
• Ensure compliance with U.S. tax reporting of foreign investments and income
• Research and advise on investment transactions and Federal/State tax compliance matters for investment partnerships
• Mentor, develop and retain staff through active participation in the firm mentoring program

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA)
• Minimum of 5 or more years of experience working with investment tax partnership clients
• Knowledge of tax software and MS Office
• Ability to provide exceptional client service as well as develop trusted client relationships
• Strong leadership and personnel management skills

Preferred Requirements

• Top 50 or Regional Firm experience preferred
