About the Role
As the International Tax Director, you will lead and manage all aspects of international tax compliance, planning, and strategy for our organization and clients. You will serve as a subject matter expert on global tax regulations, oversee cross-border transactions, and ensure compliance with complex international tax laws. This is a senior leadership role, requiring deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments and with external advisors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the international tax function, including compliance, planning, research, and audit activities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Advise on the tax implications of cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, and global expansion.
- Oversee and review international tax provision, including US foreign tax credit, Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, and other international income tax calculations.
- Develop and implement international tax strategies to optimize the global effective tax rate and minimize risk.
- Stay current on changes in international tax laws and regulations, and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with tax authorities and external advisors in various countries.
- Coordinate with the transfer pricing team to advise on business expansion and manage related calculations and compliance.
- Review and approve international tax compliance documents and filings.
- Provide guidance and support to finance and accounting teams on international tax matters.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals.
- Support business development activities and contribute to the growth of the international tax practice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s in Taxation, JD, or LLM preferred.
- CPA, JD, or equivalent advanced credential required.
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in international tax, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role (Big 4 or large public accounting firm experience preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of US and international tax rules, including transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, and tax treaties.
- Experience with M&A tax planning, global tax compliance, and provision.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience developing and implementing tax strategies and managing relationships with senior executives and external advisors.
- Proficiency with tax compliance and research software (e.g., CCH Axcess, GoSystem, OneSource).

- Experience with tax issues in multiple foreign jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong business development and client relationship skills.
