As a Tax and Compliance Manager within our Finance Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring SN remains compliant with all tax regulations and compliance, and state registrations. You will manage the firm’s income, sales, use, and miscellaneous tax obligations, support ongoing monitoring and registration activities, and respond to compliance-related notices and examinations.

This role requires a combination of deep tax expertise, organizational excellence, proactive communication, and cross-departmental collaboration. You will also support scenario-based planning and internal process improvement efforts.

What you’ll do at SN:

  • Oversee preparation and timely filing of federal and state income tax returns for all SN entities
  • Lead scenario planning for future tax liabilities and collaborate with leadership on tax strategy
  • Administer sales and use tax compliance, coordinating closely with State and Local Advisory
  • Monitor and manage registration and reporting obligations across multiple states
  • Establish processes to track and file miscellaneous taxes (property, gross receipts, etc.)
  • Maintain and monitor professional and business licenses across jurisdictions
  • Review and coordinate responses to notices and tax examinations for SN entities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HR, IT, and Payroll to maintain compliance
  • Participate in education initiatives and support internal audits or compliance reviews as needed

What you may have done before:

  • Held a tax compliance or regulatory affairs role at a public accounting or consulting firm
  • Worked as on an internal finance team at a professional services or tech focused company
  • Worked in an internal audit or finance function at a multi-state company

What it takes to be a Tax and Compliance Manager:

  • 5+ years of progressive tax or compliance experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and tax software platforms
  • Desire to stay current with compliance requirements and industry trends

Salary: The salary range for this position is an estimate of $95,000 - $110,000. A final compensation offer within this range will be based on factors including an individual’s skill sets, experience, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and geography.
