This role is a hybrid position
Some roles require an office while others may be done remotely. This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Boston office locations.

At Sonos, our Tax team ensures we meet our global tax compliance obligations while supporting strategic business decisions. The Tax Analyst will play a key role in maintaining accurate tax reporting, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and helping streamline processes through automation and collaboration with Finance and Accounting. This role offers an opportunity to learn from a world-class team and contribute to the scalability and efficiency of Sonos’ global tax operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local income tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws.

  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax provisions, supporting ASC 740 calculations and documentation.

  • Collaborate with internal Finance and Accounting teams to reconcile tax accounts and ensure accuracy of general ledger entries.

  • Support internal and external tax audits by gathering documentation and preparing responses.

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments and assess potential impacts to Sonos.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, leveraging automation tools where possible to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

  • Assist with global tax compliance, including indirect tax filings and international reporting as needed.

  • Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives to support Sonos’ financial strategy.

What You’ll Need

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 0–2 years of relevant tax or accounting experience.

  • Strong understanding of fundamental accounting and tax principles.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with general ledger or ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

  • Qualified applicants must be able to work from an office location for part of (or the majority of) the work week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting.

  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA.

  • Experience in a multinational environment or with international tax filings.

  • Familiarity with tax automation software (e.g., Alteryx).

  • Passion for continuous improvement and leveraging technology for efficiency.

The base pay range for this role based off geographic location is:

$70,000 and $87,700

The specific pay offered will depend on the candidate’s geographic location, as well as qualifications and experience. We apply geographic pay differentials based on the cost of labor in the market.  Employees in high-cost locations may be compensated at the upper end of the range, while those in medium or low cost markets may be compensated at the lower end of  the range. Your recruiter can provide more details about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
