Talent Coordinator (Remote)

Full-Time, Remote /Hourly, Non-Exempt / Includes Benefits, PTO, Equity

Steno is growing! We’re looking for a Talent Coordinator to join our winning team, which is revolutionizing the court reporting industry every single day. We’re a diverse team from all over the country (and beyond), and we’re crazy about redefining the boundaries of an outdated industry.

As a Talent Coordinator at Steno, you'll be instrumental in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our candidates throughout the recruitment process. Your primary responsibilities will include scheduling interviews, coordinating communication between candidates and hiring teams, and powering the administration that underlies a fast-paced, high-touch, skills-based hiring process.

Who are you?

We’re looking for a passionate, detail-oriented, and forward-thinking talent coordinator who can promote the experience of both candidates and internal hiring teams. If you are interested in joining a quickly growing start-up, immersing yourself in the tech of a Talent Acquisition team’s admin, and having a direct impact on the growth of the company, this role is for you!

On a regular basis you will

  • Coordinate interview scheduling, ensuring efficient and timely communication with candidates and interviewers.
  • Work closely with Hiring Managers to understand their needs and preferences, fostering strong partnerships between Talent Acquisition and various departments.
  • Support the candidate experience by providing timely updates, guidance, and a hospitality mindset throughout the interview process.
  • Utilize our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to manage candidate pipelines, update candidate statuses, schedule interviews, and coordinate with interviewers to collect feedback.
  • Assist the Talent Acquisition team in resume review processes and initial phone screens, ensuring alignment with position requirements and Steno values.
  • Collaborate with the People Ops team on onboarding (including scheduling and coordinating new hire orientation sessions), while supporting candidate and employee experience initiatives and ad-hoc projects to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.

You’re gonna crush it if

  • You have prior experience supporting the administration of a recruiting team, preferably in a startup environment.
  • You are proficient in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks, including scheduling interviews and managing calendars. You have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, juggling multiple tasks and priorities.
  • You have a proactive and process-driven mindset, constantly seeking opportunities for improvement, and you are comfortable asking questions and identifying opportunities.
  • You are a conscientious communicator, you have excellent interpersonal skills, and you have a knack for building rapport and relationships.
  • You are familiar with how to discern a great candidate’s resume from an AI-generated boilerplate template, and you take pride in providing a great candidate experience.
  • You have experience using at least one Applicant Tracking System with ownership of administrative tasks within the platform.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary -  $27-$32/hour
  • Health, Vision, & Dental Benefits - generous company-sponsored health plans for both employees and dependents, including comprehensive vision & dental
  • Wellness/Mental Health - shared benefits to be used among employees and families
  • Flexible Paid Time Off - allowing employees to find balance in their lives
  • Options of Equity - we know our success is nothing without our team
  • Access to a 401k through Guideline
  • A home office setup and a monthly stipend to offset internet and phone costs

Our Team

The People Operations team are your business partners. We build relationships with candidates and employees throughout the community and organization, and we work directly with leadership to promote a positive, people-centric culture and business strategy. We care deeply about employee experience (and hope you do too), and our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion exemplifies our hospitality mindset. We’re committed to the personal and professional development of our people, and that mindset is a cornerstone of our team and our company.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
