Job Overview:

TopDog Law is a fast-growing, forward-thinking personal injury law firm known for its energetic culture, innovative approach, and relentless drive for client success. We’re seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our dynamic recruiting team and help us identify, engage, and secure top legal and administrative talent nationwide.

This role will play a critical part in our firm’s growth by managing the early stages of the recruitment lifecycle, sourcing, screening, submitting qualified candidates, and assisting with offer negotiations. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, follows structured recruiting processes, and values both speed and precision in candidate engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Source qualified candidates across multiple platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, internal ATS, niche legal job boards, and social channels).
  • Conduct initial screenings using standardized interview and qualification questions.
  • Manage candidate flow within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring accuracy and compliance at every stage.
  • Submit qualified candidates to hiring managers with complete write-ups and interview notes.
  • Coordinate interviews and communicate scheduling updates between hiring managers and candidates.
  • Represent the company at college and university career fairs to promote employment opportunities and attract emerging talent.
  • Support onboarding by ensuring smooth handoff of candidate information to operational teams.
  • Maintain strong follow-up practices to ensure timely feedback and a consistent candidate experience.
  • Partner with leadership to refine sourcing strategies and improve pipeline efficiency.
  • Track recruiting metrics and provide regular updates on progress, conversion rates, and talent pipeline health.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred, not required).
  • 2+ years of experience in talent sourcing, recruiting, or staffing (law firm or agency experience a plus).
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain candidate pipelines within an ATS (experience with systems like Workable, Lever, or Greenhouse preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on professionalism and relationship-building.
  • Familiarity with legal industry roles, terminology, and recruiting channels (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate compensation and handle sensitive candidate communications.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask across multiple open roles and hiring timelines.
  • Strong attention to detail, process-oriented mindset, and sense of urgency.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
