Site, Business, OR Functional Area Overview This role sits within the Defense Engines organization, partnering closely with Product Line, Engineering, Sourcing, VCP Lab, Production Shops, Finance, and Program teams. Primary work locations are Lynn, MA (primary) and Evendale, OH (additional), with responsibility for operating rhythms and cost execution across the T408 program that powers the CH-53K aircraft.

Role Overview The T408 Cost Leader owns the strategy, execution, and leadership of cost-out activities for the T408 engine. You will build and manage a pipeline of cost ideas, drive cross-functional execution, and sustain savings to meet both program and business objectives. Leveraging experience in sourcing, engineering, finance, or shop operations, you will lead customer-funded cost reduction programs, transform productivity processes, and contribute to long-term business and product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end pipeline for T408 cost idea generation, evaluation, execution, and sustainment; serve as Program Manager for customer-funded cost-reduction programs
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to reduce material and conversion costs; quantify impacts and risks
  • Partner with Product Line, Engineering, Sourcing, VCP Lab, and Production Shops to implement part cost-out projects while mitigating future cost risks
  • Lead daily operating and reporting rhythms for the designated P&L; ensure transparency of cost performance, forecasts, and actions
  • Participate in PCB and deal reviews to ensure cost impacts are understood, challenged, and effectively communicated
  • Apply lean and structured problem solving to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement within the Defense Engines productivity organization
  • Serve as prime interface for business and technical issues with Customers (e.g., NAVAIR, DCMA, airframers) for assigned programs
  • Represent the U.S. Navy and other potential customers internally as an advocate on business and technical issues
  • Report program status, risks, and issues; define action plans and provide direction to achieve cost and schedule goals
  • Lead make-versus-buy evaluations in partnership with Sourcing, Engineering, and Finance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; or high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in product management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, finance, shop operations, or program/project management
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, asylees, or refugees) consistent with access to U.S. export-controlled information

Desired Characteristics

  • Gas turbine design and component manufacturing experience
  • Understanding of GE Aerospace deal review process and PCB governance
  • Negotiation experience with suppliers and/or customers
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret and act on financial data and reports
  • USG contracting knowledge and direct customer relationship experience
  • Program management skills and experience executing projects within GE Aerospace Engineering processes
  • Proven problem-solving facilitation and execution; lean mindset and toolkit
  • Deep understanding of cost drivers; ability to influence without authority in a matrixed environment
  • Supplier relationship management and development experience
  • Ability to energize, develop, and build rapport at all organizational levels

Additional Information

The base pay range for this position is $ 167,900.00 - 224,250.00 USD Annual The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
