The Systems Technology Mechanical Design Lead Engineer will pioneer novel design features, materials, and manufacturing processes that push the boundaries of turbine engine technology. Roles and Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional design efforts to mature turbine engine component technologies through demonstrator rig and/or engine testing. Your responsibilities will include:
Create designs that support both ground and flight testing for demonstrator and/or certification/qualification purposes. Take component concepts through the entire design process, exercising core engineering skills including 3D modeling, finite element analysis, high cycle & low cycle fatigue assessments, mechanical stack-ups, and drawing definition release.
Conduct design trades to optimize across a range of requirements, develop validation plans for new technologies, and understand the impact on project cost and schedule.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to establish boundary conditions, assess advanced material and manufacturing capabilities
Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Use prior experience and acquire technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
Develop in-depth understanding of key business drivers; use this understanding to accomplish own work.
Use prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
Provide informal guidance to new team members.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 3 years of experience in turbine design or related field

Experience working in EVM managed projects
Material Review Board (MRB) certification
Strong understanding of turbogenerator principles and technologies
Proficiency in CAD software (NX) and simulation tools (Ansys, etc)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, uncertain environment
The base pay range for this position is $109,250.00 - 146,050.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on March 30th, 2026.
