About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Husky Card Services, the Systems Specialist will provide operational support and maintenance for web-based applications and databases within the Husky Card Services and Student Life Technology portfolio. This will include CS Gold, RMS/Mercury integrations, StarRez, SharePoint, EMS, Crystal Reports, Formsite, WordPress, Tableau, and other tools and applications. 

The System Specialist will participate in rotating coverage schedule on university holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Systems Support and Maintenance

Support web and database operations for Husky Card Services and Student Life Technical Support which include CS Gold Web Manager, RMS/Mercury, StarRez, SharePoint, Formsite, EMS, Tableau, and WordPress. Develop Web components that will integrate with back-end databases and extend application functionality. Perform systems administration tasks for Web-based systems. Manage user accounts and privileges, implement new releases, archive information, apply patches, implement appropriate scripts, monitor logs, and other tasks as needed. Work with the vendors and ITS to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Provide support for creation and maintenance of websites in Student Life as needed.

Data and Reporting

Monitor data trends and system integration feeds for accuracy and functionality. Respond quickly and effectively to data requests from campus partners and vendors utilizing access and transaction data with CS Gold and RMS/Mercury. Provide monthly reports to Business Services for payment of external vendors and on an ad-hoc basis using SQL and Crystal Reports. Create user-friendly data dashboards and trend reports for use within Student Life related to student access and meal plans.

Training and Documentation

Create user training materials and documents for systems including CS Gold Web Manager, RMS/Mercury, StarRez, EMS, SharePoint, Tableau, and WordPress for use by variety of end users. Participate in regular training and continued learning opportunities relative to current and potential applications within the Husky Card Services and Student Life Technical Support Portfolio. Interface with partner offices on best practices and provide data-driven recommendations for future operations.

Day to day Operations

Assist with the oversight of front desk and customer support functions. Assist in the opening and closing of the front desk daily, troubleshooting of card printing and the monitoring of student staff performance. Assist in the management of high-level customer service and troubleshooting concerns. Assist with external communications and special events as required. Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet Department, Division, and University goals and objectives. Obtain training and serve as secondary resource support person for other technical areas, as group needs dictate. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Information Technology or Data Science degree preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Web-based systems, with strong skills in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, Crystal Reports, and SQL. 
  • Experience with SharePoint, Tableau, and WordPress preferred. Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, preferred; proficient experience required. 
  • Experience with database management and analysis preferred. Knowledge of information security and data management best practices preferred. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Demonstrated organizational ability and ability to prioritize/manage several projects concurrently.

Expected Hiring Range:

$67,855.00 - $95,845.00

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
