Step into a role where you'll own technology for an entire site and see your work directly impact trading operations.
We're looking for a skilled Systems & Network Engineer to take technical ownership of our Connecticut trading office. This role blends network engineering, infrastructure design, and on-site support, giving you both autonomy and direct impact on our trading team's success.
From designing network architecture between our Connecticut and Austin offices to keeping traders online and supported during market hours, you'll be the go-to person for ensuring systems are fast, reliable, and resilient.
If you like variety-architecting networks one day and troubleshooting urgent trading issues the next-this is the role for you.
What you'll do
  • You'll own network connectivity between CT office, Austin, and Azure (VPN/site-to-site connectivity, routing, firewall rules)
  • You'll design and implement Azure network architecture (VNets, subnets, NSGs, private endpoints)
  • You'll monitor and optimize network performance for trading applications
  • You'll troubleshoot connectivity issues across the full stack (office LAN → WAN → Azure services)
  • You'll partner with the Platform Manager on Azure networking strategy and hybrid infrastructure design
  • You'll manage the Connecticut office network infrastructure (switches, routers, wireless, firewall)
  • You'll implement and maintain network monitoring and alerting
  • You'll configure and manage DNS, VPN access, and security policies
  • You'll document network architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
  • You'll provide on-site technical support for CT traders during market hours
  • You'll triage and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • You'll administer local systems (workstations, office infrastructure, conference room technology)
  • You'll coordinate with the Austin team for user provisioning, M365 administration, and device management
  • You'll act as CT site liaison for planned infrastructure changes and maintenance windows
  • You'll respond to urgent technical issues affecting trading operations
  • You'll work 100% remote until our Stamford, CT office is set up. Once set up, you'll be onsite as-needed but otherwise will work in a hybrid setting.

Your Team
You'll be the first Technology team member onsite in Connecticut, working side by side with traders. You'll also collaborate with our broader Technology team across Development, IT & Infrastructure, Architecture, and Business Solutions in US and in EU.
What you bring
  • 4-6 years in network engineering, systems engineering, or similar infrastructure roles
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field
  • Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting
  • Experience with Azure networking (VNets, VPN Gateway, NSGs) or a strong willingness to learn cloud networking
  • Firewall configuration and management (any enterprise firewall - Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, pfSense)
  • WAN connectivity technologies (site-to-site VPN, SD-WAN concepts)
  • Network troubleshooting methodologies (packet capture, traceroute, systematic diagnosis)
  • Windows and Linux systems administration (enough to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues)
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Azure Network Watcher, or similar)
  • Azure certification (AZ-104 or similar) or hands-on Azure infrastructure experience
  • Experience with Kubernetes networking or container environments
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation
  • SQL Server connectivity troubleshooting
  • Trading floor or financial services infrastructure experience
  • ExpressRoute or MPLS experience

How you work
  • You are a self-sufficient problem solver, comfortable with being the primary tech person on-site
  • You have a systematic, curious, and persistent mindset
  • You have excellent communication skills and can explain technical issues to non-technical traders clearly
  • You are comfortable with task switching between project work and urgent support requests
  • You are execution-focused
  • You are professional and responsive during market hours (traders depend on you)
  • You are a team player who collaborates well with remote colleagues

What you can expect from us
You'll join with a steep learning curve supported by a thorough onboarding program that sets you up for success from day one. From there, you'll enjoy a high level of autonomy, working alongside exceptional colleagues who are bold, honest, ambitious, and among the smartest in their fields. Our culture is unique-we live our values of Honesty, Transparency, and Rethink, and we do it without rigid hierarchies or dress codes. Along the way, you'll take part in great events, both within your team and across the organization, and you'll have the chance to grow on both a professional and personal level.
