WindESCo is a rapidly growing company improving our planet by increasing the green energy output
from existing wind farms. We do this by combining engineering expertise, data science, and machine
learning. Our solutions are currently optimizing wind farms in 19 countries and 41 customers. We have
an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer with the work at our headquarters in Burlington, MA. We

Systems Engineer
We are seeking a Systems Engineer who has hands-on experience in design, development, field
deployment and scaling of sensors, IoT platform, wireless communication and remote data acquisition
systems. This role focuses on designing and integrating hardware and software systems which would
enable remote data acquisition to monitor and enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime of
wind turbine generators. A significant part of the position will involve conceptualizing sensor systems,
data acquisition systems, wireless communication, vendor identification, system integration and
collaborating with data science engineers in deploying failure detection algorithms that leverage
real-time data to predict issues before they impact performance. The ideal candidate will have a solid
background in sensor systems, communication, vendor development and a keen interest in renewable
energy systems.
Job responsibilities
● Systems engineering: Design, develop, system integrate, test and scale remote data acquisition
system by owning system design, requirements engineering, design trade off analysis, vendor
and process management.
● IoT platform: Conceptualize IoT platform requirements specification and collaboration with
Vendor and internal teams to realize reliable IoT platform (Hardware + Software) meeting
product cost target.
● Sensor system design & maintenance: Design reliable and cost effective sensor system for
remote data acquisition.
● Communication system: Design, identify communication methods for remote data acquisition
systems at scale.
● Performance monitoring: Use data analytics and monitoring systems to track and define
maintenance plans for the remote systems at scale.
● Root cause analysis: Conduct in-depth root cause analyses of detected issues, documenting
findings, solutions, and recommendations for future prevention for the customers
● Technical reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports on diagnostics, findings, and
performance trends, providing actionable insights to internal engineering and customer
maintenance teams.
● Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including domain experts, data
scientists and customers’s engineering team to implement corrective actions and improve
system performance.
● Compliance & safety: Ensure that all work complies with safety standards and regulations,
maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to industry best practices.
Minimum qualifications
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering or related
field (Master’s preferred).
● Experience: 3+ years in hardware and software design and system integration.
● Technical skills:
o Hands on experience in handling sensors, data acquisition systems, communication
protocols, IoT platform, Root Cause Analysis.
o Knowledge of SCADA systems, data analytics software, and fault detection systems.
o Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python) for algorithm development and
data analysis.
o Familiarity with relevant electrical standards and regulations.
● Analytical skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to interpret complex data
and identify trends.
● Communication skills: Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical
and non-technical stakeholders.
● Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CEM, PE) are a plus.
Preferred qualifications
The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following:
● Experience with wind turbine generator systems and renewable energy applications.
● Knowledge of electrical signature analysis, vibration analysis and SCADA data analysis for fault
detection will be an added advantage.
● Operating knowledge of Linux OS, OPC - UA, OPC - DA, Docker, AWS
