The System Administrator will manage compute and network infrastructure, automate tasks, and collaborate with teams to ensure operational efficiency for robots in factories.
The Company
Tutor Intelligence is building the technology and processes to let robots go where they’ve never gone before: the average American factory. We know general-purpose, intelligent robots are coming—and we're combining human and artificial intelligence to lead the charge. Every piece of infrastructure we deploy—compute, networking, sensors—directly impacts real-world automation and economic productivity. We’re looking for hungry, technically-minded individuals who thrive in high-ownership, high-impact roles.
Job Summary
Are you the kind of hacker who runs arch on your home-built PC (or rack) riced out exactly to your liking? Do you dream of overseeing a fleet of artificially intelligent robot workers deployed in factories and warehouses from coast to coast? As a sysadmin at Tutor, you'll take ownership over the physical and cloud-based infrastructure that powers our robots in-house and across our deployment sites. You’ll directly influence how our systems scale, perform, and operate in the real world.
Our Culture
We believe that something truly special can happen when talented, motivated people work together; at Tutor, every member of our team is empowered to have real impact in everything that they do. We’re characterized by both technical excellence and a commitment collaboration and respect.

- Configure and debug managed switches, routers, firewalls, and other network equipment
- Automate infrastructure tasks through scripting (bash, Python, or your preferred tool)
- Ensure infrastructure reliability, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions quickly
- Collaborate with software engineers, manufacturing, and customer staff on infrastructure requirements
Prerequisites
- Deep familiarity with Linux systems
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and the Linux networking stack
- Experience with managed networking hardware (switches, routers, firewalls)
- Comfortable writing scripts to automate infrastructure (bash, Python, etc.)
- Hacker mentality: curious, driven, eager to own your systems and push them further
Nice to Haves
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and/or GitOps
- Familiarity with robotics or IoT deployments
- Experience with Docker or container orchestration (Kubernetes, Nomad)
- Understanding of basic electronics or sensor integration
- Strong Python programming skills
What We Offer
- High-ownership role in a rapidly-growing robotics company
- Opportunity to directly shape real-world deployments of cutting-edge technology
