Oversees the processing of Distribution System changes into GIS, DB/UG, and other System asset registries in compliance with GIS Standards and Procedures. Directs the development and implementation of GIS Standards and Procedures, ensures Design Control processes (e.g. Work Orders) are supported by GIS work practices, monitors GIS input to ensure accurate and complete processing of System changes, and establishes priorities to support Distribution System Operations. Works with the GIS Model Administrator to enhance the GIS data quality and land base quality and recommends tools and products to improve System asset registries including user access to GIS.
- Oversees the processing of Transmission, Substation and Distribution System changes into GIS, DB/UG, and other System asset registries.
- Establishes and ensures compliance with GIS Standards and Procedures.
- Establishes priorities for processing Distribution System changes.
- Monitors and improve GIS data accuracy and completeness.
- Oversees the development and implementation of QA/QC processes for GIS and DB/UG data input.
- Collaborates with the Design Control Owner to ensure GIS input from Design Control processes.
- Enhance GIS operational support and business support through improved electric system data and land base data.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Thorough knowledge of GIS Standards, applicable work practices and procedures, Design Control processes, and Distribution System Asset Registries.
- Knowledge of electric system safety requirements.
- Detailed knowledge of the GIS Smallworld, AutoCAD, Adele, and the EDS Outage Management System.
- Appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to inspire and guide individuals (direct reports, peers, and superiors) toward goal achievement; modifying behavior to accommodate tasks, situations, and individuals involved.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required.
Experience:
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of Energy Delivery experience is required.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
