As a Strategy & Analytics professional, you’ll be an essential component of our company’s success - making Dataminr’s AI platform more advanced and driving initiatives to support company growth & operations. In this unique hybrid role, you’ll be driving a combination of operational, strategic, and analytical initiatives to improve our alerts, data source coverage, and experiment with ways to maximize ROI from machine learning and AI models. You are a highly motivated individual that loves making sense of large amounts of data, developing models & conducting R&D to inform decision making, and creating presentations to convey strategic insights. You will work with a cross-functional team of AI content engineers, data analysts, and product managers - to solve challenging problems.

The opportunity

• Gather, analyze and use data to drive both day-to-day decision-making and long-term strategic and operational planning

• Conduct analysis and deep-dives into aspects of Dataminr’s alerting and operational processes, in order to identify and execute quality improvement and innovation opportunities

• Conduct R&D data exploration of open source data

• Support and build proprietary algorithmic data streams

• Find technical solutions to help solve business and internal product challenges

• Collaborate closely with Operational, AI and Data teams to support business objectives

• Be self-driven with proven technical abilities, sense of teamwork, and willingness to roll up their sleeves and get work done

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree required

• 4+ years in management consulting, or a similar strategic & analytical role

• Passion for breaking information, current world events, technology, and a great understanding of both social media and publicly available data

• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, with a strong sense of ownership and willingness get work done

• Ability to maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, quickly learning new technologies and business requirements.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with self-motivation and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

• High proficiency in following technical skills:

  • MS Office suite, Google Suite

  • Experience with metrics analysis

  • Experience using SQL for data analysis 

  • Python scripting skills desirable but not required

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,200 - $125,500. You will also be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus and Company equity. Actual salary will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience.
