To support client’s conference growth strategy by transforming SEO keyword research into high-quality, idea-first content that attracts qualified, high-intent audiences. The writer will create compelling, community-driven articles that integrate insights from speakers, attendees, and contributors through interviews and collaborative storytelling.

Profile Overview

Client is seeking a seasoned SEO content writer who can balance strategic search optimization with premium, thought-leadership storytelling. This role requires working from a Compose.ly-provided keyword research report and translating it into content that aligns with the client's brand: intellectually rich, community-led, and non-transactional.

The ideal candidate understands how to:

  • Maintain an idea-first narrative (not sales-driven)
  • Collaborate with multiple contributors and co-authors
  • Conduct and synthesize expert interviews into cohesive content
Scope
  • Ongoing monthly engagement (starting after initial SEO research phase)
  • 2 articles per month (20 hours total)
  • Articles will incorporate interviews with speakers, attendees, or community members
  • Writer will collaborate directly with client stakeholders to refine topics and direction
Responsibilities
  • Translate SEO keyword research and content strategy into compelling article topics
  • Develop outlines and structure aligned with SEO goals and editorial voice
  • Conduct interviews with community members (e.g., speakers, attendees, experts)
  • Synthesize multiple contributor inputs into a single, cohesive narrative
  • Ensure content reflects client’s community-first and idea-first positioning
  • Integrate keywords naturally while maintaining a premium tone
  • Collaborate on content workflows that may include co-authorship or contributed sections
  • Maintain consistency across articles while adapting to different subject matter experts
  • Ensure all content aligns with client’s brand standards and avoids overly promotional language
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in SEO content writing and strategy execution
  • Strong background in interview-based or thought leadership writing
  • Ability to write for high-level, intellectually sophisticated audiences
  • Experience working with content briefs, keyword reports, and search intent
  • Exceptional storytelling and editorial judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple contributors and perspectives in one piece
  • Familiarity with luxury brands, media platforms, or mission-driven organizations
  • Strong research and interviewing skills
  • Ability to adapt tone to be inspirational, insightful, and non-salesy

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
