Job Description
The Strategic Planning & Operational Effectiveness Lead is responsible for driving the strategic design, stand-up, and management of innovative projects and operational efficiencies within Global DD&T (GDD&T). This role is pivotal in:
Driving Innovation and special projects: Leading the exploration, business case develop-ment, design, launch, and integration of new programs and special projects. These projects will aim to bring innovative ideas, processes, and ways of working, significantly enhancing opera-tional capabilities and strategic output for GDD&T. Key responsibilities include prioritization, validation and incubation of new programs until they are mature enough to be transitioned to the respective business units/functions.• Operational Effectiveness: Leading crucial process improvement initiatives aimed at enhanc-ing the efficiency and effectiveness of Global DD&T. This role heads prioritization and resource allocation of new initiatives, tracks the impact and performance of initiatives, and prepares de-tailed analyses and decision-making materials for the Head of DD&T Strategic Planning and Program Excel-lence. By doing so, it ensures informed strategic oversight and facilitates the seamless integration of enhancements into organizational practices.• Leadership in Transition Management: Managing the lifecycle of strategic projects from in-ception to handover, ensuring transitions to business units are seamless and value-adding. This role not only oversees the direct implementation of projects but also shapes the processes and culture that underpin successful program delivery and operational integration within Takeda.• Chief-of-Staff Support to CDTO TET Leader: Providing critical support to the leadership team, specifically the CDTO, managing critical strategic initiatives, preparing detailed docu-mentation and steering alignment meetings. This involves synthesizing complex project data into actionable insights, facilitating informed decision-making, providing insights on CDTO budget and ensuring that strategic initiatives are executed with precision and aligned with over-arching GDD&T goals.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:• Support Head of SP&T in Chief-of-Staff activities to CDTO, managing their agenda, coordinating strategic initiatives, and ensuring alignment between teams. Act as a liaison between CDTO and other executives to streamline communication, project coordination and ensure we meet financial targets.• Oversee the execution and management of new and ongoing projects, focused on innovative solutions and process improvements within GDD&T. The role will head and execute project management office (PMO), executing strategies, overseeing budget performance measurement and reporting, to enhance project delivery and operational success.• Validate, prioritize, and incubate new projects and initiatives, managing the project lifecycle from conception through to handover to business units or functional groups.• Lead strategic planning and implementation of operational excellence programs, ensuring alignment with Takeda's and GDD&T's broader goals and compliance with industry standards.• Provide timely and accurate updates to senior leadership on project status, challenges, and strategic opportunities within the innovation and operational domains.• Oversee or facilitate key leadership meetings, prepare documentation and assist CDTO in preparation of high-level meetings, including developing agendas, briefing materials, strategic insights that facilitate informed discussions and decisions.• Champion a culture of innovation within the team and across GDD&T by encouraging creative problem-solving and the adoption of advanced technological solutions.• Incentivizing team to drive innovation across GDD&T, managing and reporting team performance, as well as creating opportunities for learning and development.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:• Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, Life Sciences, Business, or related subject matter.• Minimum 12+ years of information management and/or related work experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry• 10+ years of working experience managing external service provider partnerships within Pharmaceutical and/or Biotech environment.• Experience with IT projects from start to end.• Strong knowledge of information management, data quality, data constraints and Governance Frameworks• Proven leadership and management capability

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$169,400.00 - $266,200.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
