Job Description

The Strategic Business Development Manager acts as the internal authority on an assigned National GPO, advising senior Philips leadership on opportunities, risks, competitive dynamics, and growth levers.

Your role:

  • Define and own Philips’ national GPO growth strategy, aligning portfolio priorities with the assigned GPO’s structure, programs, and member dynamics to drive incremental revenue and share gains. Translate strategy into executable growth plans, ensuring consistent alignment across Philips Business Units and field organizations.
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with assigned GPO leadership, field sales executives, advisory services, consulting partners, and key ecosystem influencers and position Philips as a strategic, long-term partner. Develop and deliver executive-level commercial narratives and presentations that articulate Philips’ differentiated value and growth impact.
  • Influence standardization and supplier preference across assigned GPO organizations through strategic engagement, education, and value positioning (contracting supported by a dedicated contract resource). Drive demand creation and pull-through across the Philips Healthcare portfolio by aligning initiatives with field sales execution.
  • Orchestrate cross-portfolio collaboration, ensuring Image Guided Therapy, Diagnostic Imaging, Ultrasound, Connected Care, and Enterprise Informatics execute as a coordinated growth engine.
  • Define success metrics and drive accountability for growth across internal stakeholders and continuously refine strategy based on performance insights.

You're the right fit if:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) and at least 8 years of progressive experience in healthcare business development, strategic sales leadership, or enterprise account management, with a strong track record of driving growth through national GPOs, or complex healthcare ecosystems.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to translate ecosystem strategy into measurable revenue impact.
  • Executive presence and communication skills, with credibility engaging C-suite and senior stakeholders. Proven ability to lead through influence and deliver results in large, matrixed organizations.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Sales position.
  • Deep understanding of health system purchasing dynamics, the assigned GPO operating model, and supplier engagement frameworks. Willingness to travel up to 50% to support executive engagement and growth initiatives.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is a field role in the United States.
