Checkmarx is the leader in agentic application security, delivering enterprise-grade protection while helping organizations lower engineering costs and accelerate development velocity. The Checkmarx One platform scans trillions of lines of code each year, enabling companies to cut vulnerability density by more than half. Autonomous security agents continuously detect and counter AI-driven threats across the software development lifecycle, delivering prevention-first protection for legacy, modern, and AI-generated code at enterprise scale.

Why Checkmarx

You’ll sell a market-leading platform in a fast-growing category with strong executive buy-in and clear customer value. We offer a high-performance sales culture, modern go-to-market strategy, and a compensation plan built for elite sellers—uncapped commissions, early accelerators, and significant upside.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Strategic Account Manager to own and grow a portfolio of large enterprise accounts while also driving new logo acquisition. This role is built for a proven cybersecurity seller who thrives in complex, consultative sales cycles and consistently delivers expansion and net-new revenue. You will own the full sales lifecycle and operate as a trusted advisor to executive, security, and engineering leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute strategic account plans focused on expansion, renewals, and net-new growth
  • Prospect, develop, and close targeted greenfield enterprise accounts
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles using MEDDIC / MEDDPICC
  • Conduct executive-level discovery aligned to business, security, and technology priorities
  • Position Checkmarx’s Application Security and Agentic AI solutions as strategic platforms
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, and leadership to drive outcomes
  • Deliver high-impact presentations, demos, proposals, and negotiations
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity tracking in Salesforce
  • 5+ years of quota-carrying enterprise sales experience, preferably SaaS or cloud to large enterprise/strategic accounts.
  • Proven success expanding existing accounts and closing new logos
  • Preferred background selling Cybersecurity, Application Security, DevSecOPs, DevOps, and modern SDLC related SaaS platforms
  • Hands-on experience with MEDDIC / MEDDPICC
  • Executive presence with strong communication and negotiation skills
  • True hunter mindset with a disciplined, results-driven approach
  • Willingness to travel as needed within the U.S.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
