As a Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for all sales activities for the assigned strategic account sites in the Southern California region. An essential part of this role is relationship building with the technical team within the strategic account and cross-functionally within the internal regional and global sales team at Sartorius. Additionally, the active use of the CRM system to manage sales activities and customer interactions effectively is a key enabler for this role to achieve individual/team Sartorius sales targets.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • Promote Sartorius products and services within the assigned strategic account sites to achieve sales targets and gain market share
  • Manage existing business and identify new business opportunities to suggest products/ services aligned with Sartorius + customers market and growth strategy 
  • Reporting: Actively use CRM system to manage and document sales life cycle activities including leads, opportunities, customer interactions and to accurately forecast existing and future business
  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic account plan to achieve sales targets and request and coordinate resources
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal regional and global teams (Sales, FAS, SUTEs, PS, PMs, Quality) to create successful strategies to maintain existing business and gain new business from the account
  • Client Relationship Management: Spend ~50% time in the field to develop and maintain strong customer relationships for long term partnership and act as the primary point of contact for all account-related inquiries and issues
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product offerings. Coordinate and participate in marketing activities (demos, product presentations, Sartorius day) in the strategic account.

What will convince us:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or engineering; Master’s or PhD preferred

  • Based in Southern California within driving distance from Oceanside and San Diego  
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial MABS, ADC upstream/downstream biopharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, process characterization, technology transfer, scale-up, production or application support
  • 3+ years field sales experience, with preferable laboratory/ process-based manufacturing in Life Science
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of biological drug development and application process within multiple modalities (MABS, ADCs, Cell and Gene therapies)
  • Hands-on knowledge and proactive usage of SFDC and other CRM tools.
  • Travel Requirements – International and domestic travel will be required for training and commercial purpose - up to 30%

Compensation for this position will be a base salary between $105,000.00 and $130,000.00 depending upon experience and qualifications.  Commissions for this position generally range up to 30% of a candidate’s base salary.
