Mission Summary:

As the Story & Content Creation Senior Specialist you will operate as both an investigative journalist and a creative producer. Your mission is to find, capture and produce the stories within the company that help showcase innovation, progress and team work.

The ideal candidate won’t wait for a brief; you find the story, storyboard the vision, and then grab a camera or a laptop to bring it to life.

What you’ll be doing: 1. Story Discovery and Development
  • Internal Story hunting: Embed yourself with engineering, product, and operations teams to identify technical achievements and human-interest stories that align with our brand pillars.
  • Format Agility: Adapt stories for multiple formats, for both internal and external content: a technical blog post, a 60-second "day-in-the-life" video, a LinkedIn article, or a photo essay.
  • Storyboarding: Draft scripts and visual storyboards that bridge the gap between complex AI concepts and relatable, accessible storytelling.
2. Content Creation
  • Production: Be ready to capture video and photo assets on the fly—whether it's an interview with a lead engineer or behind-the-scenes at a test track.
  • Writing: Write engaging social media posts, blogs posts and internal notes that position our technology as a market leader and showcases commitment to innovation and team work.
  • Short-Form Content: Produce and edit quick-turnaround social clips that feel authentic, human, and informative.
3. Storytelling
  • Technical Translation: Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) and translate "engineer-speak" into stories that resonate with the public, business partners, regulators, and investors.
  • External Voice: Help capture the "voice of our customers" through interviews and community stories.
What we’re looking for:
  • Experience: 4–7 years in journalism or content creation (bonus points for experience in tech, automotive, or aerospace).
  • Creative Experience:
    • Writing: Exceptional long-form and short-form copywriting skills.
    • Visual: Proficient in mobile or photography and videography.
    • Editing: Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or similar tools to produce "ready-to-post" assets.
  • Curiosity: A natural storyteller and the ability to ask the right questions to uncover why a technology matters.
  • Portfolio Required: Must show a variety of work (e.g., articles, videos you scripted/shot, and social posts).

This role is hybrid from our Boston or Pittsburgh office. It requires two in-office days each week, ideally Tuesday and Thursday.

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
