The Opportunity
The Integrations organization builds and maintains the systems that power over a thousand Datadog integrations, ensuring they are seamless, scalable, and deliver meaningful insights. The team partners closely with product groups to ensure integrations collect the right data and unlock the full value of Datadog’s platform. Its mission is to make integration development fast, reliable, and consistent through shared systems, frameworks, and tooling. As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll shape how integrations are built and operated by solving complex technical challenges and designing scalable solutions across teams. You’ll also lead cross-team initiatives to define standards, improve reliability, and enhance developer efficiency across the organization.

What You’ll Do
- Partner with engineering teams across Datadog to design and implement scalable, reliable integration systems.
- Identify and address common technical challenges in the integration ecosystem through frameworks, tooling, and shared infrastructure.
- Lead cross-team initiatives that improve developer productivity, integration quality, and overall system performance.
- Contribute to technical standards, architecture reviews, and best practices that guide integration development at scale.
- Mentor and influence other engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and strategic guidance.
- Experienced in designing and scaling distributed systems or developer platforms.
- Proficient in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or similar).
- Passionate about enabling other engineers through tooling, frameworks, and clear technical patterns.
- Comfortable leading cross-functional projects and navigating ambiguity to drive alignment and results.
- Excited by complex systems, open-ended challenges, and opportunities for broad technical impact.
- A strong communicator and collaborator who values clarity, empathy, and shared success.
