Role Description
We’re looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead our Account Experience domain. In this role, you’ll define and drive the strategy for how customers securely and seamlessly access their accounts. You will set the vision for modern authentication experiences—ensuring trust, security, and usability at scale—while influencing multiple teams across Dropbox to align on this critical foundation.
What you’ll do:
- Set multi-year strategy for authentication, MFA adoption, account recovery, and trust signals—aligning security imperatives with user experience.
- Drive cross-product initiatives, such as scaling passkey adoption, reducing password reset rates, and establishing secure recovery systems that cut across business units.
- Shape metrics and success frameworks that capture both user trust and security outcomes, and guide adoption across teams.
- Influence cross-functional partners in Security, Engineering, Research, and Design to create seamless, user-first account flows.
- Balance short-term execution with long-term foundations, ensuring today’s solutions pave the way for durable, scalable account systems.
- Elevate organizational alignment, communicating insights and progress to leadership, while ensuring multiple product areas move cohesively toward a shared vision.
- Define and evangelize a product vision for the account experience that influences beyond your immediate team.
- Lead a cross-functional working group, ensuring rapid iteration, validation, and alignment across multiple surfaces and products.
- Analyze user journeys and systemic data patterns across Dropbox’s portfolio to identify friction and unlock trust.
- Develop clear product requirements and success metrics, ensuring solutions scale beyond single features to portfolio-wide improvements.
- Manage risks and unblock multiple teams, making thoughtful trade-offs to ensure high-quality, timely outcomes.
- Partner across product areas to build account experiences that are consistent, reliable, and adaptable to emerging security standards.
- 8+ years of product management experience, with a track record of launching successful products and features.
- Proven ability to understand customer needs and translate them into products that solve real problems.
- Experience leading teams and working cross-functionally in a collaborative environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; able to manage up and ensure stakeholders are aligned.
- Analytical skills to interpret data, identify insights, and inform product direction.
- A scrappy mindset, moving the team forward despite resource constraints and finding lean ways to validate ideas.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments, with adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Strong influence and collaboration skills, creating clarity for the team and driving alignment in complex contexts.
- Experience shaping strategy within a product area, and leading projects that require coordination with other teams.
- Proven experience shaping strategy across multiple product areas with measurable business and customer impact.
- Familiarity with SaaS identity systems, account security, or trust & safety domains.
- Experience defining portfolio-wide measurement frameworks and success metrics.
- Strong product intuition paired with rigorous analytical skills, able to bridge user experience, security, and business outcomes.
