You'll be leading through technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on engineering.
What You'll DoDesign and build core platform capabilities on AWS that enable scalability, reliability, and developer autonomy.
Lead large-scale architectural initiatives, ensuring alignment with company-wide technical strategy.
Develop high-quality, production-grade software — language agnostic, with a focus on choosing the right tool for the job.
Collaborate closely with other teams to identify pain points, design reusable components, and unify patterns across services.
Mentor engineers through design reviews, code walkthroughs, and deep technical discussions.
Champion automation, observability, and resilience in all areas of platform design.
Build and maintain automated testing infrastructure to enable efficient QA processes and improve software quality across teams.
Establish best practices for system design, deployment, security, and testing infrastructure across Second Nature's engineering ecosystem.
Required:
10+ years of software engineering experience, including extensive work with distributed systems and large-scale applications.
Deep expertise in AWS, including experience with core services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, IAM, etc.).
Strong programming skills — able to write clean, maintainable, and performant code in one or more languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java, Node.js, etc.).
Proven ability to drive technical architecture and standards across multiple teams.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD, observability, infrastructure as code, and cloud security best practices.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence decisions through technical credibility.
Passion for platform reliability, developer productivity, and system performance.
Nice to Have:
Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure
Strong DevOps background with experience in Terraform/Terragrunt
Experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks and QA infrastructure at scale
Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS
Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog
Proficiency with AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf) to enhance development velocity
