Job Description SummaryThis role is for a mid-level individual contributor in the Rotorcraft Turboshaft & Turboprop Engineering (RTPE) organization reporting to the Engineering Program Control leader. In this role, the RTPE Compliance, Export, and Tagging Leader ensures that our products, data, and transactions comply with applicable export control, trade regulations, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements while enabling efficient, scalable business operations. This role owns export classification, CUI and data/tagging standards, and related governance for RTPE, partnering closely with International Trade Compliance (ITC), Engineering, Programs, Sourcing and Operations. The leader will build and mature the standard work across sites/programs and will serve as the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) focal for RTPE, supporting T700/CT7 and T408/T64/T58 platforms.
Our organization, RTPE, focuses on Systems & Design Engineering for CT7, T700, T408, T64, and T58 engine families, supporting the helicopter business across commercial and military platforms worldwide, including, but not limited to, Black Hawk, CH 53E/K, and Apache. These programs provide critical products, services, and technical support for essential missions, such as defense, firefighting, emergency relief, search & rescue and more. RTPE offers a dynamic environment with a mix of production, manufacturing, and new product introduction, making it an exciting place to work on legacy and advanced helicopter engines.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Compliance & Governance

  • Maintain and evolve policies and procedures for export control, trade compliance, CUI handling, and tagging across RTPE, ensuring alignment with enterprise & US Government standards.
  • Serve as RTPE CUI focal, ensuring that CUI requirements are understood, documented, and embedded into processes, tools, and training.
  • Conduct and maintain risk assessments for ITAR, EAR, and CUI across RTPE processes and systems, and ensure appropriate controls and mitigation plans are in place.

Export Control & Trade Compliance

  • Lead export classification for defense-related products, software, services, and technical data, including assignment and maintenance of ITAR/USML categories, EAR/ECCNs, and related classification data.
  • Support export authorization processes for defense programs, including technical assistance agreements, licenses, and proviso implementation, in partnership with ITC and program leadership.

Tagging, Data Classification & CUI Management

  • Define and implement tagging and data classification standards for products, documents, and technical data, covering ITAR, EAR, CUI, proprietary and other regulatory categories.
  • Ensure proper identification and markings of CUI in accordance with contract and regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Deliver targeted training and awareness on ITAR, EAR, CUI, and tagging practices for defense program teams, engineers, sourcing, logistics, and ITC at all levels of the business.
  • May be responsible for initiating purchase orders (POs) and managing third-party contracts related to tagging in alignment with company policies.
  • Conduct root cause reviews following incidents, near-misses, or audit findings; implement systemic fixes to prevent recurrence.
  • Apply FLIGHT DECK tools and behaviors to design, implement, and sustain standard work, visual management, and problem-solving routines for export, tagging, and CUI processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience with classification/tagging.
  • At least 1 year of experience with CUI requirements, marking, and handling with a U.S. Government/defense contracting.

The base pay range for this position is 149,500.00 - 198,950.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 3/30/2026.
