What you will do in a Staff Data Engineer role at Kyruus Health:
- You’ll collaborate with other internal teams to design data pipelines to ingest information from various systems to our BigQuery data warehouse
- You’ll take ownership of the codebase, identifying gaps, areas for improvement, refactoring where needed, and keeping the design fresh and modern
- You’ll actively code to unblock technical and communication challenges as necessary to ensure teams meet product roadmaps and close those gaps.
- You’ll contribute to and participate in architecture review decisions, designs, and documentation that will govern the direction of the team, the codebase, and multiple products over a several month timeframe
- You’ll communicate effectively with stakeholders (upper management, engineering manager, product manager, and peers) regarding the product you are responsible for
- You’ll provide feedback and participate in pair programming exercises.
- You’ll report to the Senior Manager, Engineering in the Data & Cloud Platform Department within the Engineering & Technology Division.

- Kyruunauts in the Staff Data Engineer role can move in a more linear career path to a Senior Staff Data Engineer position. From there, you could move into a principal / architect level role or explore a management position within the Data Management vertical.
- Kyruus Health also loves to see an internal transfer. If a linear career path is not what you’re looking for, you can work with your manager and HR to explore lateral moves to other parts of the organization as you continue to grow with us.
How You Can Grow
What you will bring:
- 8+ experience developing data platforms using python and sql.
- Experience creating and maintaining Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) Pipelines and using modern ETL tools.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI agents and other AI tools to significantly enhance developer productivity.
- Experience working with database and data warehouse technologies such as Postgres, Bigquery, and Redshift.
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Experience in developing large scale data structures and streaming pipelines such as Apache Beam.
- Experience creating data visualizations in tools like Datadog, Looker, Tableau, or other applicable data visualization and business intelligence tools.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Plus: Working experience in the US healthcare system, in particular with data systems and EHRs such as Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth.
Compensation Information:
- Base Pay Range: $156,00- $175,000/year
- Other Compensation: In addition to your salary, this position is also eligible for our annual bonus program, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are a guideline and pay is based on a variety of factors including; qualifications, competencies, skill-set, and organizational needs.
