Lynch Landscape & Tree Service is a growing, family-owned company serving residential and commercial clients throughout Central Massachusetts. We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team and support the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

This position is responsible for accounts payable, payroll, vendor management, equipment tracking, and monthly financial close activities. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Vice President and CFO to maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and support overall business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and vendor payments.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and resolve billing discrepancies and inquiries.
  • Process payroll accurately and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Assist with monthly and year-end financial close activities.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and management reporting packages.
  • Track company equipment, including purchases, leases, depreciation schedules, and related expenses.
  • Serve as a primary contact for the CFO by providing financial reports, supporting documentation, and requested analyses.
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with audit preparation, compliance reporting, and financial reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies.
  • Support additional accounting and administrative projects as needed.
Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and requires regular use of computers, accounting software, and standard office equipment. The role is largely sedentary but may occasionally require lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and standing or bending as needed.
