WE OFFER:

  • Compensation: $62,000/year (Fixed Rate)
  • Work Environment: This is a remote role, but candidates must reside in MN, and WI
  • Team Culture: Focuses on career development and collaboration. Wanting each other to succeed.
  • Work Schedule: Flexible schedule — employees can start anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and work eight hours from their start time, with the option of a 30-minute or 1-hour lunch break.

Job Description

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant – Cash Management is responsible for overseeing the organization’s cash activity, including daily bank balances, cash transactions, reporting, fraud monitoring, loans, electronic transfers (ACH, EFT, wires), and bank fees. This role serves as the primary liaison with banking partners and ensures accurate, timely cash movement and reporting.

In addition, this position supports month-end close for corporate entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and budgeting, while maintaining strong accounting controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Prepare and process intercompany invoicing for items such as vehicle billings, computer leases, bank charges, network fees, and wireless cards 
  • Prepare and post recurring journal entries 
  • Reconcile assigned bank accounts and support daily cash management activities 
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and balance sheet reconciliations 
  • Maintain subsidiary ledgers in alignment with the accounting close calendar 
  • Prepare sales and use tax reports and assist with state-specific reporting 
  • Support preparation of rent certificates and cost report reclassifications as assigned 
  • Assist with cash projections and other accounting projects as requested 
  • Complete other accounting and administrative tasks to support the department 

Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or Associates degree plus 2 years of experience in accounting or related field.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel 
  • Accounting Fundamentals: Understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, invoicing, and general ledger processes 
  • Accuracy & Speed: Ability to process information efficiently while maintaining attention to detail 

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, and Workday
