A growing Corporate Finance team is seeking a driven, detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to support month‑end close, financial reporting, and audit activities within a public‑company environment. This role sits on a six‑person Corporate close team and offers strong visibility, cross-functional exposure, and a clear development path toward Senior Accountant. This role is based in Westford, MA.

Compensation: $75K–$85K + 10% bonus
Experience: 2–5 years of GL accounting
Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Role Summary:

The Staff Accountant will handle core general ledger responsibilities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly/quarterly close analysis. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders, support external audit requirements, and help strengthen internal controls and accounting policies. This position is ideal for someone who wants to grow, take ownership, and contribute to continuous improvement across the finance organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support month‑end close through GL work, account reconciliations, and consolidation activities

  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet and expense analyses, and close-related reporting

  • Assist with internal financial reporting, including variance analysis

  • Partner with external auditors (Big 4) on quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SOX testing

  • Maintain and update Corporate accounting policies and internal controls

  • Build cross-functional ERP knowledge and help train team members

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and strengthen controls

  • Provide support to other departments on accounting-related requests

  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives



RequirementsQualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • 2–5 years of corporate GL accounting experience

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and ability to apply principles effectively

  • Experience with monthly close, reconciliations, and variance analysis

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present financial information clearly

  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to manage large data sets

  • Proficient in Excel; experience with Tier 1 ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP) a plus

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict close deadlines

  • Team-oriented, proactive, and committed to growth and accountability
