Enthusiast Gaming is looking for a full-time Staff Accountant (GTA based, remote) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada reporting to the SVP, Finance and/or Director, Finance. Salary to be determined based on experience. The Staff Accountant will be a hands-on professional and an integral member of the Finance team with the following key responsibilities but not limited to:
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting various monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance;
- Works closely with the Director, Finance to spearhead the revenue invoicing and recognition process on a monthly basis through analyzing insertion orders and collaborating with the account managers to determine status of campaigns;
- Work with the Director, Finance to identify process gaps and assist with meeting IFRS compliance standards for all accounting functions;
- Assist with bookkeeping functions of specific entities within consolidated group as assigned by the Finance team;
- Prepare and manage the accounts payable accrual and prepaid schedules;
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing procedures;
- Respond to requests relating to information from customers, various departments and other stakeholders;
- Assist with 1099 filings;
- Assist in US statutory surveys and reports;
- Assist in period tax filings including HST and Corporate taxes;
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices;
- Prepare ad hoc reports and monitor KPIs;
- Assist in completing and resolving complex reconciliations with high transaction volume and foreign exchange;
- Assist in providing input to process documentations and business cases, write variance explanations, summaries of findings and recommendations;
- Assist in the implementation of changes to improve use and efficiency of finance processes and procedures;
- Assist in providing detailed analytics to management for decision making purposes;
- Assist in corporate financial planning, budget, and cash management functions;
- Assist in periodic reports for the senior management;
- Assist in the annual audit and quarterly review process;
- Duties typically associated with those of the role of Staff Accountant; and
- Other roles and duties as may be reasonably assigned or requested by the SVP, Finance and/or Director, Finance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in a relevant business or accounting field;
- CPA or CPA in progress is preferred;
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance;
- Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas;
- Experience with US Payroll/1099 filing/BEA surveys/dealing with US State and Federal bodies to resolve issues considered an asset;
- IFRS knowledge is considered an asset; and
- Experience using NetSuite is considered an asset.
Skill and Abilities:
- Excellent to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to data extract, mine, and manipulate large volumes of data;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide written and verbal communications relevant to the user;
- Highly analytical and detailed oriented;
- Strong organization and time management skills;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Able to plan, prioritize, analyze, and execute on multiple tasks and requests;
- Self-starter and proactive;
- Results-oriented with a “can do” attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and
- Flexible and able to adapt to growing organizations and deal with the Company’s changing needs and priorities.
