At ParentSquare, we’re passionate about improving the lives of students, and that passion drives how we build our product and serve our customers. You will work closely with development teams to design, implement, and maintain robust infrastructure and automation solutions.

This role will include:

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one of Python, GoLang, or Ruby.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing principles and experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Why Join Us?

At ParentSquare, we believe in winning together and building a product that truly serves schools, educators, and families. We value transparency, collaboration, and an entrepreneurial spirit, and we look for team members who share these values. You’ll have the opportunity to lead design at scale, influence a fast-growing company, and make a meaningful impact on K-12 education.

The perks of working for us are great! You’ll get your foot in the door as our company continues to grow. We’re big believers in work-life balance and provide:

  • Health + wellness reimbursements
  • Generous PTO
  • 15 paid holidays, including your birthday!

As a fully remote team, we’ll make sure you have all the tools and equipment you need to make your home office a place where you can thrive.

We're an equal-opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
