Bioproduction, Sr. Technical Sales PUR

Location: Greater Cambridge, MA (95% of time), with limited travel to New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, and Rhode Island.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and highly valued individual contributor to join our team as a Chromatography Sales Specialist. This role is crucial for driving sales of Thermo Fisher’s chromatography products to biopharma accounts for process development and manufacturing. Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales goals by maintaining growth and actively seeking new business opportunities within the territory.
  • Conduct sales calls, presentations, and travel to customer sites.
  • Collaborate closely with applications counterparts to transition sales from evaluation to closure.
  • Introduce products in new processes at accounts while identifying new opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Partner with customers and product management to forecast and communicate large orders and shipment details.
  • Continuously improve sales skills through technical and sales training. Proactively update Salesforce and maintain comprehensive business plans.
  • Attend tradeshows, conferences, and stay informed by reading trade journals and company product literature.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree (B.S, M.A, PhD, or equivalent experience) in Chemistry or related life science field.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of sales experience in the biopharmaceutical / Life Sciences market is required
    • Experience within Bioproduction is preferred.
    • Experience with Purification products (Poros and Capture Select) is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong technical skills to discuss and support chromatography resins for biopharmaceutical process development and manufacturing groups.
    • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships by understanding the background of accounts and key customers, interpreting their needs, and providing effective solutions.
    • Excellent analytical skills to analyze territory sales data and technical information.
    • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proven sales history and established relationships within the downstream process development sector.
  • Business Insight:
    • Ability to seek out sales opportunities and provide innovative solutions to customer needs using effective strategies.
  • Impact:
    • Successful sales performance in this role will directly contribute to achieving sales revenue targets. Building strong customer relationships will enable accurate forecasting and timely production planning.
