Chainguard is the secure foundation for software development and deployment. By providing guarded open source software, built from source and updated continuously, Chainguard helps organizations eliminate threats in their software supply chains.

Founded by the industry's leading experts on open source software, security and cloud native development, Chainguard has built the largest library of open source software that is secure by default.

Chainguard’s mission is to be the safe source for open source.

The Role, in a Nutshell:

This role is for a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager to support technical product marketing across the entire Chainguard portfolio. Our mission is to make the software supply chain secure by default. Our users include platform teams, SREs, and security engineers at some of the world’s most sophisticated engineering organizations.

This role is central to translating the technical depth of our products into content, tools, and messaging that resonates with practitioners and technical decision-makers. You'll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, and marketing to bring clarity, credibility, and momentum to how we show up in the market.

What You’ll Do:
  • Develop messaging and positioning to show how Chainguard helps engineering and security teams secure their software supply chains, and clearly communicate the value to technical decision-makers and practitioners.
  • Partner with technical enablement and field teams on technical training, certification and tools for the field, iterating with feedback to ensure successful product launches and momentum.
  • Scope, build, and run the technical components of product launches (e.g., technical blogs, demos, diagrams, webinars, tutorials).
  • Create high-impact technical content and tools—including solution briefs, in-depth blog posts, recorded demos, videos, and technical white papers.
  • Conduct detailed technical competitive research and translate findings into internal tools (battlecards, matrices) and external content (positioning pages, objection handling).
  • Support demand generation and DevRel efforts by building technical narratives and assets that move prospects through the funnel.
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to align messaging with product direction, ensuring we stay ahead of emerging market needs.
  • Engage with customers and users regularly to gather insights, test positioning, and understand real-world use cases and pain points.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 5+ years of technical product marketing experience in B2B SaaS—ideally in developer tools, infrastructure, or security. Cloud Native (containers or Kubernetes) a plus
  • Prior experience in a hands-on technical role (e.g., sales engineering, solutions engineering, professional services, DevOps, or platform engineering).
  • Experience building or supporting demo environments from the ground up
  • Proven ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts clearly, accurately, and persuasively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing technical content and presenting to practitioner audiences.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, and go-to-market teams.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, highly technical environment where clarity, speed, and substance matter.
Base Salary Range
$175,000$205,000 USD
