Description:

As our Senior Technical Marketing Manager, you'll sit at the intersection of product, sales, and the security practitioner community. You'll own how Zafran's capabilities are positioned, demonstrated, and understood — from the conference stage to the competitive battlecard to the customer's inbox. This isn't a role for someone who just writes about technology; it's for someone who gets it, and can make others get it too.

If you've spent years in vulnerability management, exposure management, or a neighboring security domain — and you know how to turn technical depth into compelling narratives — we want to talk.

About Zafran:

Our Mission: To stop the exploitation of vulnerabilities, everywhere.

What makes us different: In a world where AI-enabled attackers weaponize vulnerabilities within minutes, the old scan-and-patch-everything model no longer holds. Zafran's Exposure Graph continuously maps every vulnerability across your hybrid environment, chains exploitability through real attack paths and proves 90% of "critical" vulnerabilities can't actually reach you. It then neutralizes the real 10% using your compensating controls and safely remediates only where it matters.

Who’s behind us: Zafran is backed by Menlo Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Cyberstarts, and a deep belief that cybersecurity should move as fast as attackers do. We’re one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, scaling to meet demand from the world’s most advanced, security-obsessed organizations.

What you will do:

  • Own competitive intelligence: track the landscape, synthesize findings, and build battlecards, one-pagers, and positioning guides that help sellers win.

  • Produce technical content that drives pipeline, including blogs, solution briefs, white papers, demo scripts, and video narratives for security practitioners and technical buyers.

  • Act as the voice of the technical buyer with Product Management to ensure messaging, positioning, and roadmap decisions reflect how security practitioners actually evaluate and adopt the product.

  • Partner with product marketing on launch enablement, translating release notes and roadmap updates into compelling field-ready stories.

  • Embed with Solutions Engineers during customer evaluations and deal cycles to capture firsthand field feedback, then loop those insights back into positioning, messaging, and competitive strategy.

  • Work with threat research team to translate original findings, adversary intelligence, and vulnerability disclosures into marketing-ready content such as technical blogs, advisories, and reports.

  • Represent Zafran at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events, including speaking opportunities and live demos (roughly 20–30% travel).

  • Build and maintain a library of sales enablement assets, ensuring reps have accurate, up-to-date materials at every stage of the funnel.

  • Stay informed about trends in vulnerability management, exposure management, and the broader cybersecurity market.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical marketing, product marketing, or a solutions-focused role

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced B2B startup.

  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and articulate complex security concepts to both practitioner and executive audiences.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a portfolio of technical content you're proud of.

  • Strong competitive research skills, with the ability to turn market signals into clear, actionable insights.

  • Experience presenting at industry events, running live product demos, or appearing on customer-facing webinars.

  • Team player mentality with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.

  • Must have experience with vulnerability management, exposure management, or adjacent security domains.

At Zafran, people matter! We provide a robust benefits program that includes flexible PTO, health insurance plans (medical, dental, vision), a monthly stipend for phone and internet, 401k, flexible spending account, and a home office stipend when joining!

At Zafran, we’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We believe the best teams are built by people who think differently, come from all kinds of backgrounds, and aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo. We welcome everyone across race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, national origin, and veteran status, because what matters most is what you bring to the table.

If you’re curious, fun, and someone who gets things done, we’d love to meet you
