We're looking for a Technical Product Manager, Operational Excellence to drive the execution of our Engineering Excellence organization's operational roadmap. This role is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and continuous improvement of operational excellence programs across Site Reliability Engineering, Quality Engineering Operations, Financial Operations, and Release & Change Operations. This role blends technical program management, internal customer advocacy, and data-driven operational oversight.
You will own roadmap execution across operational excellence initiatives, coordinate delivery across teams, and provide visibility into adoption, impact, and adherence to operational standards. This includes working directly with engineers to support tool implementation, driving process adoption to improve operational reliability and cost efficiency, and driving alignment of operational governance across product portfolios.
What You’ll Do
Program & Execution Management
- Drive feature-level roadmaps for operational excellence tools, dashboards, and services across SRE, QEOps, FinOps, and Release Operations
- Maintain roadmaps for operational tooling rollout, adoption goals, and enablement model implementation
- Support quarterly planning cycles and manage sprint-level tracking of initiatives tied to operational excellence
- Track and manage cross-functional progress toward achieving reliability goals, cost optimization targets, quality standards, and release management milestones
- Surface risks and maintain visibility into operational health across all Engineering Excellence domains
Technical Enablement & Tooling Integration
- Collaborate with engineers on implementation and configuration of operational tools including monitoring platforms (NewRelic, Splunk), quality tools (Xray, SonarCloud), cost optimization platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and release management systems
- Support internal customers by gathering feedback and surfacing tool enhancements across the operational excellence stack
- Assist with feature rollout coordination, documentation, and configuration/testing to validate operational tool and service setup
- Act as technical liaison between Engineering Excellence teams and product teams to ensure successful adoption of operational tools and practices
- Drive integration of AI-augmented operational tools and developer productivity enhancements
Data Aggregation, Monitoring & Operational Accountability
- Analyze operational data across reliability, quality, cost, and release metrics to identify trends and develop improvement strategies
- Collect and aggregate data from systems like Jira, SonarQube, GitHub, AWS Cost Explorer, incident management platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools
- Oversee execution of operational excellence strategy, ensuring systems meet reliability, quality, and cost efficiency standards
- Partner with SRE, DevOps, and Platform teams to maintain real-time operational dashboards and ensure accurate reporting on KPIs and SLAs
- Enable real-time monitoring and alerting for operational excellence metrics including MTTR, change failure rates, cost efficiency, and quality thresholds
- Support chaos engineering initiatives and operational resilience testing programs
Reporting, Communication & Alignment
- Regularly report on operational excellence KPIs including MTTR, change failure rates, AWS cost optimization, and quality metrics, surfacing gaps and providing visibility to leadership
- Deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on operational tool adoption, team alignment with excellence goals, and cross-functional operational performance
- Provide trend analysis and operational insights, highlighting systemic issues, improvement opportunities, and operational successes across reliability, quality, cost, and release domains
- Drive accountability by making operational posture visible across squads, portfolios, and leadership forums
- Coordinate release management reporting and incident response communication

You're a structured thinker and strong executor who understands the technical workflows behind operational excellence including site reliability engineering, quality engineering, cost optimization, and release management. You're as comfortable analyzing AWS spend and incident response metrics as you are facilitating cross-functional planning or delivering stakeholder updates.
You're someone who:
- Understands the complexity of scaling operational excellence across teams, tools, and cultures
- Collaborates with engineers and users to make operational tooling usable, scalable, and impactful across reliability, quality, cost, and release domains
- Advocates for internal users by advancing operational maturity through integrated systems and actionable visibility
- Can manage complex programs spanning multiple operational domains while getting into technical detail with engineers when needed
- Connects cross-functional efforts to break down silos and prevent delivery delays across the operational excellence organization
What you'll bring:
- 8+ years in operational program management, platform engineering, or technical delivery roles
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of operational excellence principles including SRE practices, quality management, cost optimization, and release management
- Familiarity with AI-enhanced operational and development tools
- Familiarity with DORA/Core 4 metrics and operational excellence frameworks
- Experience with operational engineering practices including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and observability, test automation, and release management
- Hands-on experience with operational tooling ecosystems including Jira, SonarQube, GitHub, monitoring platforms (NewRelic, Datadog, Splunk), AWS cost management, and dashboard/reporting platforms
- Experience coordinating across multiple teams and workstreams in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
- Strong ability to collect, validate, and interpret technical and operational data across multiple domains
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Bonus points:
- Experience managing internal developer or quality-focused tooling initiatives
- Familiarity with test data management strategies
- Exposure to observability practices and performance engineering standards
- Basic scripting/querying skills (e.g., SQL, Python, YAML) a plus
