Core Responsibilities- Focus on compliance-driven tax responsibilities, primarily concerning Corporate Income Tax, with additional involvement in Indirect Taxes.
- Execute Corporate Income Tax compliance for U.S. and Canadian LEGO entities, covering both federal and state/provincial levels, in collaboration with external consultants.
- Manage the Year-End Corporate Income Tax provision for the U.S. and Canada, coordinating efforts with external advisors and auditors.
- Prepare tax extensions and estimates in partnership with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
- Compile and oversee documentation for U.S. and Canadian Tax Audits, with a particular emphasis on Corporate Income Tax.
- Supervise the Foreign Withholding process.
- Manage tax compliance for the LEGO Group's U.S. non-profit organization, with support from external advisors.
- Provide support for Sales and Use Tax and Property Tax compliance as required.
- Work effectively with Tax Operations and Compliance team members, with particular emphasis on the Transfer Pricing team.
- Collaborate closely with the Global Tax team to ensure robust tax governance and assist in developing compliance processes for current and future projects.
- Maintain a strong connection with the Business Service Organization team to ensure the accuracy and quality of data for various tax functions.
- Engage stakeholders to enhance awareness and secure commitment for tax compliance initiatives.
Regionally, the role supports the timely and quality preparation of tax compliance within the region by ensuring complete and accurate information is provided to tax preparers ensuring that the tax returns process is transparent and documented. Within the region, the role supports the wholesale and retail business as “first line” tax queries.
Globally, the role will support the standardization of tax processes and also contribute insight to global processes and controls. Further, the role will use technology applications such as Blackline, LEGO Process Portal, document, and automate tax processes.
Do you what it takes?- Proven relevant tax experience. Must have tax technical background, i.e. tax from other in-house role and/or Big4
- Experience in implementing internal controls related to tax processes.
- Ability to work independently to drive successful completion of projects, compliance objectives, and identification of improvements in execution.
- Strong partner management and proactive approach to communication and deliverables
- Teammate with great collaboration skills and the ability to multi-task across a range of activities and regions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- International travel up to 15 days/year
- Experience with IFRS and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Previous experience with SAP, Blackline
- Microsoft Office
Compensation
The salary for this position has a range of $134,750.00 - $202,126.00 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
