We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to lead complex infrastructure initiatives as well as architect storage and data warehousing solutions.  This position is working as part of the Infrastructure team supporting the MNTN Platform and Engineering Team. This role requires a seasoned professional who can drive innovation while ensuring system reliability, scalability, and security.  We will be building a data warehouse that pushes the performance limits of current hardware technology. 

This person will be part of a team that will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining that infrastructure.  The right candidate will enjoy topics like disk i/o tuning, kernel customization for performance, and automating large scale clusters.

What You'll Do:

  • Be part of the Infrastructure team that will work with our Data Engineering on designing and implementing a high performance data warehousing environment.
  • Work with our Devops team to integrate this colocated infrastructure with cloud environments, creating a hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Constantly iterate on the infrastructure to increase performance.  This includes IOPS and block size tuning along with striping options to ensure the fastest possible performance.
  • Create templates for building out clusters of servers.
  • Use Ansible to programmatically manage configuration changes on servers.
  • Customize the kernel to maximize disk and network performance.
  • Own all datacenter management, including IP allocation, documenting rack configurations, and putting together specifications for any remote hands work.
  • Define and deploy monitoring for all infrastructure systems.

What You'll Have:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering
  • 8+ years working in a virtualized environment, using multiple hypervisors
  • 5+ years building infrastructure for a large scale SAAS based environment
  • 5+ years working on network based storage solutions using iSCSI
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Deep understanding of Linux
  • Developed an automation framework for scaling of systems
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and network concepts, especially layer 3 routing
  • Experience with various network hardware is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Python and Bash scripting
