About the RoleThe Sr Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for working closely with suppliers to enhance their manufacturing processes, ensure quality standards, and optimize cost efficiency. This role involves leading supplier evaluation, qualification, and development projects, conducting detailed process and quality audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address supplier-related issues and improvements. This individual has advanced knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality systems, along with demonstrated expertise in supplier management, project management, and data analysis.
In this role, you will lead evaluation, qualification, and development projects for suppliers, ensuring they meet technical and quality standards. You will conduct detailed process and quality audits of suppliers to ensure compliance and work with them to implement corrective actions and process improvements. By analyzing data, you will identify trends in supplier performance and develop strategies for improvement. Additionally, you will manage supplier development projects to enhance their capabilities and overall performance. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, you will address supplier-related issues and drive improvements. Furthermore, you will interact with and influence senior leadership decision-making on critical supplier matters to achieve quality improvement and cost reduction objectives.About You

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +6 yrs experience).
  • Typically 8+ years of related experience.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required; Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) and Certified Supplier Development Professional (CSDP) are highly desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supplier management principles and best practices and maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Management principles and processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and reporting, and skilled in breaking down complex issues into clear and simple terms for company action.
  • Understanding of risk management, cost analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing supplier development projects.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.


Compensation:

Pay Range:

$110,383.00 - $151,775.50

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
