Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the Storage Area Network that provides hard disk space to the servers via the network.
- Maintains and monitors Storage Area Network usage to ensure necessary capacity is available.
- Manages data backup infrastructure to provide reliable restore capabilities to data owners.
- Develop and maintain tools and automation for storage and backup environment.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management.
- Follow legal policies as directed.
- Formulate plans for capacity planning and technology forecasting.
- Participate and provide support on any incident calls and pursue an RCA.
- Experience implementing and supporting new technologies and understanding of associated business implications with a basic amount of supervision.
- Ability to execute multiple projects/tasks & deadlines effectively without supervision.
- Solid experience supporting Windows & Linux storage subsystem components in mission critical production environments.
- Expert knowledge of storage system management tools and software.
- Experience with storage system performance analysis, troubleshooting & resolution of complex problems. Broad troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with backup/restore and archiving of data in a large environment, including both disk and tape backups and restores.
- Demonstrate understanding of relationship storage systems with associated business processes.
- Ability to understand and write scripts in Shell, Python, and/or Perl.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills along with analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience with reporting and alerting software like Nagios or similar, Grafana/Prometheus/Graphite or similar.
- Experience with provisioning SAN and NAS storage on Linux and Windows.
- Experience with developing APIs to communicate with storage and backup systems.
- Design, develop & provisioning storage & hosting platform services via DevOps engineering.
- Create CICD pipelines for build, branching, updates/merging via devops best practices.
- Write code for automation of provisioning storage for - Compute, Database, Virtualization, file storage.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Storage Platform Engineer preferably in a senior or lead role.
- In-depth knowledge of infrastructure storage technologies & infrastructure automation via IaaC.
- Strong experience with storage systems such as NetApp, EMC, HPE, IBM, Azure Storage.
- Solid understanding of cloud storage solutions e.g., Azure Blob Storage, S3 Storage.
- Proficiency in working with Service Now service management application for automation.
- Proficiency in storage protocols & standards, including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB, and SCSI.
- Proficient understanding of storage provisioning to compute, virtualization and application workloads.
- Proficient understanding of data protection, backup and disaster recovery and high availability.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and orchestration of storage tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with specific infrastructure storage software, such as Veeam, Commvault, or IBM Spectrum, TSM Storage Protect, EMC, NetApp, HPE(brocade), Rubrik, Zerto, Pure, NetApp, etc.
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering implementation and best practices.
