We have a great opportunity for a versatile Sr. Software Test Engineer - Automated, Manual & Performance to join our amazing team at Ferguson Technology. This role is approved to be fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States. 
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for devising a strategic test plan with a focus on API Testing based off reviewing Requirements, User Stories and Tech Design.
  • Responsible for design and development of automated API Testing Frameworks.
  • Responsible for creating regression testing suites for CI/CD Test Automation.
  • Responsible for creating and performing detailed and Comprehensive API Test Cases that covers API Contract Validation, Positive, Negative, Boundary and Edge Case Test Scenarios.
  • Responsible for reviewing peers test cases and test plans.
  • Responsible for code review of Automated Test.
  • Responsible for identifying, logging and tracking API defects and collaborating with Development, Business Analyst and Stakeholders to prioritize and resolve those defects.
  • Provides testing statistics and metrics for test closure.
  • Responsible for collaborating and leading End to End Testing regarding Consumer’s testing of the tested APIs.
  • Collaborate internally and across departments with peers to deliver products/solutions that align with Ferguson’s strategic vision.
  • End-to-end ownership of solutions, ensure accuracy and completeness of solution by having recurring checkpoints/audit loops with technical implementation teams.
  • Review team practices to identify areas of improvement and gaps preventing the team from working at peak efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a computer-related or Business-related field or relevant work experience is typically required to perform at expectation.
  • At least 10+ years of professional IT experience, with at least 7 years of hands-on functional and automation experience leading high-stakes, sophisticated IT projects.
  • Expert-level experience developing JAVA services in an enterprise environment.
  • 10+ years of experience of Manual API Test Automation.
  • 7+ years of experience of API Test Automation.
  • 7+ years of MongoDB/Relational DB.
  • 7+ years testing synchronous/asynchronous services that deliver responses in both JSON and XML via application gateway and service mesh as applicable.
  • 5+ years of testing in Azure Platform will be a plus - JMS (Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid), AKS, Azure Functions, Blob Storage, etc.
  • 7+ years of detailed understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of API Performance Testing and monitoring tools such as Log Analytics
  • Must be self-motivated, creative, and efficient in identifying issues with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail. Proactive communication is essential for this role.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and testing at the same time.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components (hardware, software, network, operating systems, storage) and Cloud Platform components (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS).
  • Expert knowledge of Testing disciplines, e.g., (e.g. functional, usability, performance) and software quality assurance standard processes and methodologies.
  • Proven Agile experience with SCRUM and Kanban, with a focus on JIRA for board management and Defect tools such as Qtest/ ALM.
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment.

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$6,805.95 - $11,921.25

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
