The Role: 

ModernaTX, Inc. seeks a Sr. Software Engineer for its Cambridge, Massachusetts location.

Here’s What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead large scale business and technology initiatives. 

  • Architect, implement, and support data solutions including development of data roadmaps and data strategies. 

  • Design and implement data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and data integration processes to support the organization's data needs. 

  • Build data pipelines using modern data stack tools. 

  • Design, develop, and maintain data streaming architecture and processes to enable real-time data processing and analytics. 

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in pharmaceutical data architecture and governance on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. 

  • Develop data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and security. 

  • Analyze Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) technologies and identify opportunities to apply these technologies to solve business problems and enhance the organization's data analytics capabilities. 

  • Build and support Generative AI applications on AWS cloud. 

  • Integrate application performance management tools to build metrics and dashboards for real-time monitoring and quick troubleshooting. 

  • Develop and maintain policies, standards, guardrails and guidelines for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) of data applications on Bitbucket. 

  • May telecommute up to 2 days per week. 

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum requirements: 

  • Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field and 7 years of experience as a Sr. Software Engineer, Lead Data Engineer, Principal DataOps Engineer, Principal DevOps Architect, or related position. 

  • In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in the stated fields and 9 years of the specified progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. 

  • 7 years of experience must include: 

  • Leading large-scale data architecture projects for pharmaceuticals; 

  • Data Integration, Data Storage, Data Modeling, Data Processing, Data Governance and Data Catalog Management; 

  • Python and SQL Programming; 

  • Cloud data management tools including S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift & Snowflake; 

  • Building and managing data integration tools; 

  • AWS cloud data computing on EC2, ECS, Athena, & Glue; 

  • Big data analytics with Spark, Trino, & Open table formats (Hive); 

  • Data transformation using Data Build Tool (dbt core & cloud); 

  • Application development with CI/CD practices; 

  • Application log monitoring and analytics through AWS Cloudwatch; and 

  • Working with pharmaceutical domain datasets to build data products. 

  • May telecommute up to 2 days per week.
