The Senior Software Developer will enhance AspenTech's Exchanger Design and Rating products, focusing on software development, UI, architecture, and integration with other products while collaborating with teams and customers.

The RoleAs a Senior Software Developer in our Technology Group, you will develop AspenTech’s Exchanger Design and Rating products, with focus on engineering improvements, UI, architecture, build pipelines and infrastructure, and integration with other AspenTech products. You will leverage your engineering knowledge and passion to provide leadership that will help drive AspenTech’s Asset Optimization strategy.Your Impact- Design, develop, maintain, and support new and existing capabilities for modeling, simulation, design, and rating software for all types of heat exchangers.
- Collaborate with customers, product managers, designers and developers to understand customer needs and translate them into product requirements and specifications.
- Investigate new and developing technologies as they appear in industry and determine how to leverage these new technologies into our software applications.
- Learn and contribute to solving problems with our highly experienced architects and software development team.
- Push the innovation and technology boundaries to bring breakthrough solutions to complex engineering and business problems.
- Provide technical support to product management, product marketing, services, and customer and business support on customer activities.
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Chemical, Software Engineering or related discipline, Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of experience developing engineering software applications.
- Experience developing with C# / .NET.
- Experience developing with C++ is a plus.
- Experience with FORTRAN is a plus.
- Experience using software tools for process or equipment simulation, design, and rating – experience with AspenTech products is a plus.
- Familiarity with heat exchangers, mechanical engineering, or related fields is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to follow and adopt new software development technology and practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated history of working well in a team.
