The Opportunity:

As a Sr. SCOPES Knowledge Manager (Southern Command Operations, Planning, and Engagement Support) working at US Southern Command (US SOUTHCOM), you will provide specialized support for creating, testing, migration, documentation, maintenance, and daily operations for customer record keeping and data management at the compartmented level. The Contractor shall perform the following tasks in support of a Geographical Combatant Command:

  • Provide data administration support, including data input, modification, deletion, analysis, and document management in line with government policies.

  • Implement and manage knowledge systems, such as SharePoint and Office 365, to support organizational information needs and communication.

  • Lead platform expertise in SharePoint and Office 365, offering integrated solutions for improved collaboration.

  • Analyze business processes, recommending and implementing effective knowledge management tools and methodologies.

  • Administer and maintain the SharePoint environment, including user permissions, content management, and site customization.

  • Ensure compliance with information assurance policies and perform regular audits to safeguard data.

  • Offer end-user training and Tier 1 support, encouraging the effective use of KM tools.

  • Continuously review and enhance knowledge management practices to align with current and future organizational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement knowledge-related activities, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to optimize the use of knowledge assets under the KM framework established by the Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO).

  • Guide efforts to identify and engage external shareholders, subject matter experts, and centers of excellence, fostering collaborative relationships.

  • Provide actionable recommendations for improving the storage, access, and sharing of organizational information and maintain awareness of relevant processes and tools.

  • Conduct KM-related training and user assistance for new arrivals, augmentees, and established users, including external partners as necessary.

  • Support functional and cross-functional teams, such as Operational Planning Teams (OPTs) and exercises, by organizing and facilitating knowledge generation, organization, and access.

  • Promote agile and efficient knowledge-sharing practices throughout the organization to improve decision-making cycles and outcomes.

  • Manage and design KM systems using Microsoft 365 (M365) and other approved technologies, ensuring seamless integration and support of Command KM systems.

  • Provide routine reports on KM assessment efforts, tracking staff element progress toward target metrics.

  • Take responsibility for the quality of information created within the organization and ensure its accurate and secure dissemination.

  • Coordinate with Content Managers (CMs) to ensure the currency and accuracy of organizational information across all domains.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) plus 7 years of related work experience (or)

  • Associate degree plus 9 years of specialized experience.

  • Major certification plus 10 years of specialized experience.

  • 11+ years of specialized experience without a degree.

  • Current Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance.

  • Senior/high competence in the use of Microsoft Office 365 for managing KM systems.

Desired: 

  • Experience supporting Operational Planning Teams (OPTs) and other cross-functional projects within the DoD or IC.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100-$172,400
