- This candidate should have a proven record of carrying out work plans and driving for results in a variety of exciting and sophisticated settings, with a passion for growth, cost savings, brand maintenance, and quality improvement-including solutions tailored to the needs of Limited Assortment channels such as club, dollar, and convenience.
- This includes understanding the business need-particularly the constraints and opportunities of value-driven retail formats-designing and implementing tests, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, documenting, communicating results, and commercializing products.
- Proven communication and teamwork skills are critical in this role, which operates in a multifaceted and cross-functional environment, including participation in agile teams focused on rapid iteration and market adaptation.
- The candidate must also have a technical background and be able to apply prior learning or scientific principles to new situations, including right-sizing, material simplification, and cost-optimized pack formats that work within Limited Assortment retail constraints.
- This position requires an individual to manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously the majority of the time, often in a fast-paced, test-and-learn environment.
- Exhibiting a collaborative attitude and applying innovative, channel-relevant packaging solutions are a must.
Key Components of the role:
- Work with cross-functional teams, acting as packaging lead to drive execution across multiple projects from different product categories, with an emphasis on packaging that meets Limited Assortment channel requirements (e.g., shelf efficiency, simplified formats, minimal case counts).
- Manage multiple assignments/research projects concurrently and possess the ability to prioritize between a variety of business initiatives, including those with shorter timelines and leaner development cycles.
- Complete packaging testing, qualification, and commercialization while working closely with cross-functional team members in laboratory and production environments-with particular attention to feasibility and manufacturability for value retail formats.
- Translate research findings into relevant business opportunities and communicate to cross-functional teams, especially where packaging adaptations can unlock channel access or cost efficiencies.
- Adapt and apply scientific principles to new situations/products, including reformatting and resizing of existing items to meet channel-specific shopper and retailer needs.
- Specification creation and updating, with attention to detail and alignment to Limited Assortment operational constraints and requirements.

- BS/MS in Packaging, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in Packaging Development and commercialization (which can include internships)
- Strong understanding of key subject matter in areas such as packaging materials, pkg equipment/materials interaction, and packaging laboratory test methods
- Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead, coach and motivate others.
- Manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with ability to prioritize work
- Willingness to travel 30%
