What Are We Looking For?

Contentstack is looking for a Sr. Sales Engineer - DXP specializing in Data & Insights and CDP technologies. You will play a critical role in delivering the value of Contentstack’s data-driven personalization solutions. You will partner with Account Executives and Solution Architects to understand customer challenges, demonstrate technical value, and design solutions that help organizations unlock the full potential of their content and audience data. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in CDPs and CMS platforms, a solid understanding of web personalization, and the ability to translate complex data strategies into clear business outcomes. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and deliver tailored product demonstrations that showcase Data & Insights capabilities.
  • Architect solutions that integrate Contentstack’s Data & Insights platform with customer environments, including web analytics, personalization engines, and real-time event tracking.
  • Lead technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and pilot projects to ensure the successful adoption of CDP and personalization features.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing best practices for data integration, identity resolution, audience segmentation, and omnichannel personalization.
  • Differentiate Contentstack’s composable Data & Insights platform from legacy martech systems, emphasizing flexibility, speed-to-market, and ROI.
  • Support enterprise sales cycles with RFP responses, solution diagrams, and technical deep-dives.
  • Partner with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Relay customer feedback to Product Management and Engineering to influence roadmap priorities and feature development.
  • Some travel is required.

What Really Gets Us Excited About You?

  • 8+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or similar pre-sales technical roles, ideally within SaaS, MarTech, CDP, or analytics platforms.
  • Proven expertise with Customer Data Platforms (e.g., Lytics, Segment, Optimizely, BlueConic) and familiarity with headless CMS or composable DXP platforms.
  • Strong understanding of web analytics, event tracking, and personalization technologies.
  • Experience with JavaScript, REST APIs, SQL, and data integration tools (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Tealium).
  • Ability to explain technical concepts (data pipelines, identity resolution, personalization strategies) in business-relevant terms to executive and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to build strong relationships and trust with enterprise prospects.
  • Track record of supporting enterprise sales cycles and delivering impactful demos and workshops.

Salary for this role ranges between $150,000 - 175,000 plus variables based on skill set and experience

What Do We Offer?

Interesting Work | We hire curious trendspotters and brave trendsetters. This is NOT your boring, routine, cushy, rest-and-vest corporate job. This is the “challenge yourself” role where you learn something new every day, never stop growing, and have fun while you’re doing it.

Tribe Vibe | We are more than colleagues, we are a tribe. We have a strict “no a**hole policy” and enforce it diligently. This means we spend time together - with spontaneous office happy hours, organized outings, and community volunteer opportunities. We are a diverse and distributed team, but we like to stay connected.

Bragging Rights | We are dreamers and dream makers. Our efforts pay off and we work with the most prestigious brands, from big-name retailers to airlines, to professional sports teams. Your contribution will make an impact with many of the most recognizable names in almost every industry including AirFrance KLM, ASICS, Burberry, Mattel, Mitsubishi, Walmart, and many more!

One Team One Dream | This is one of our values, and it shows. We don’t believe in artificial hierarchies. If you’re part of the tribe, you have an opportunity to contribute. Your voice will be heard and you will also receive regular updates about the business and its performance. Which, btw, is through the roof, so it’s a great time to be joining…

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
